Probiotics have been reported to play an active role in our immune system. They can increase the production of antibodies, immunoactive agents and boost the activity of white blood cells. Furthermore, probiotics have been shown to reduce symptoms related to respiratory tract infections.
Our proprietary combination of beneficial probiotic bacteria found in a healthy gut microbiome is known to boost your body’s ability to fight infection and reduce the risk of inflammation.
Our bacterial strains are treated to survive in the human gastrointestinal tract
Lactobacillus paracasei 8700:2 was isolated from healthy human colonic mucosa. It survives the passage through the human GI tract, and animal studies have shown that treatment with Lpa 8700:2 reduces bacterial translocation. Furthermore, consumption of these bacteria is associated with the increased phagocytic activity of human cells and proliferation of NKT cells that are important in the defense against viral infections. Lpa 8700:2 was also shown to stimulate the increased production of IL-12 by human cells in vitro. Production of IL-12 in response to an infection is of key importance for cell-mediated immunity and the activation of phagocytes which result in the removal of infected cells.
Lactobacillus plantarum HEAL 9 found in a healthy human gut and these bacteria adhere to human mucosal cells in vitro through a mannose dependent mechanism, support the anti-inflammatory response and demonstrate tannase activity which may contribute to the generation of health-promoting components.
